Being proprietor of trading establishment specialized in distribution of imported bakery pastry raw materials, I believed that it was essential to have a factory to locally meet requirements of bakeries, pastry shop, confectioneries, cake & pastry factories. etc.

The idea of building a factory for food powders and yeast has come to my mind since Kuwait liberation war, as I believed that the big amounts of foreign currencies which were spent on buying these products from outside Saudi Arabia would be utilized in producing these items locally. At the same time, we would be contributing in supporting national economy and employing our experience and investments in our line of business.

We have entrusted a feasibility study to a specialized bureau, have applied for industrial license for the project and have been encouraged by the support of concerned authorities to request a loan for the project from the Saudi Industrial Development Fund. The construction of Ahmad Abed Factory for Food Powders & Yeast has been awarded to a national contracting company whereas the supply of factory machinery & equipments has been assigned to a specialized company.

The factory was inaugurated in 1994. Now, it manufactures more than 60 items of bread, cake & pastry mixes i.e. donut mix, muffin mix, croissant mix, cream caramel, pizza base flour, pancake mix, mousse mix of various flavors, bread & cake improvers, icing sugar, mamoul flour mix, low protein & high protein flour, self rising flour, sweetened vanilla, bread & cake concentrates, quick flavored jelly, tiramisu mix in addition to sponge cake mixes, sponge cake concentrates, donut concentrate, petit four mix, soft cookies mix and many other kinds of bakery pastry food powders which are available elsewhere in the website (please go to Product List). Some of the said products are designed for family consumption.
